April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player in the US is part of a select set of females who've been awarded medals at several Olympics. Alix Klineman, playing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games and will attempt to win her third gold medal. Ross also hopes to get her very first Olympic medal. At 39, this could be her last chance to do so. She is still confident, however. Ross on NBC Boston, said that if the team plays very well, or even at all, they could win a gold. Therefore, I'm hoping to have some luck also. Ross was a Californian born in the city of Costa Mesa in 1982. She lived here along with her parents and sibling. Apart from participating in a variety of sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball exploits in her time as a college athlete. In the last sport, she clearly stood out. In her own biography, during high school she played volleyball as an outside hitter (middle blocker) as well as a setter (outside blocker). In recognition of her work, she was honored as the 1999 Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. The skills she showed in volleyball also won her an Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman are performing their roles since 2017. But, Ross played a significant role on the beach volleyball circuit before joining the duo. In reality, she's won multiple big tournaments and one of them was a renowned volleyball player. She teamed up together with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's personal trainer. Together, Kessy Ross, she was a major force on the international circuit winning an international title in 2009. The duo eventually captured a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio to beat out for gold. It was fate that had them. Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. Together, they won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics of 2016. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC during her college days, years before becoming a professional. Ross's Trojans experience was remarkable. In 2000, as a freshman she earned Pac-10 as well as NCAA All-American Freshman of Year honors and was also an All-American. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss in her sophomore, however, she was successful in achieving the All-American award. Over her final two years in the program she led the Trojans to the summit of the mountain by winning two consecutive national championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in America according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross, an USC international relations major, was a renowned volleyball player. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie did not get to see her daughter ascend to the highest levels of beach volleyball stardom. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore studying at USC her mother died of breast cancer. She still holds her mother very dearly. Margie remains an inspiration on and off of the shore.
